Accessible Services at the Library
The Library is committed to making all our spaces and collections welcoming, safe, and accessible to all community members. We offer services, technology, and support resources for use in the library and from home. Physical Accessibility
- Parking: Handicap-accessible parking is located in front (east side) of the library.
- Entrance: The main entrance to the library features no steps and has touchless automatic doors.
- Wheelchair-Accessible Restrooms and Water Fountain
- Wheelchair-Accessible Technology: The Library has wheelchair-accessible computers, printers, faxing, and catalogs.
- Rolling Walkers and Wheelchair: The Library has two rolling walkers and a wheelchair for patron use in the library.
- Staff Assistance: For people with mobility impairments, staff members are happy to help search for and retrieve material from shelves.
- Digital Library Resources: Easily accessible from your home, Wisconsin’s Digital Library (also known as Overdrive and the Libby app) offers a large selection of downloadable and streaming eBook and eAudio collections available for eReaders, laptops, tablets, computers, and smartphones.
- Home-Bound Delivery: We deliver books, CDs, DVDs, and other library materials to your home if you are unable to come to the library due to a disability or other mobility issues. Learn more about Home-Bound Delivery services.
Blind and Vision Impairment Accessibility
- Large Print Books
- Audiobooks: available for all ages in multiple formats, including CD, PlayAway device, and downloadable file.
- DVDs with Subtitles and Closed-Captioning
- Handheld Magnifier and Readers Eyeglasses: For use in the library, just ask at the Information Desk.
- Wisconsin Talking Book and Braille Library (WTBBL): The Wisconsin Talking Book and Braille Library provides audiobooks and Brailled materials to persons, living in Wisconsin, who cannot read or use regular print materials as a result of temporary or permanent visual or physical limitations. In addition, WTBBL also circulates audiobooks and braille materials about Wisconsin or by Wisconsin authors, as well as audio-described DVDs.
Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing Accessibility
Hearing Loop: The Library has a hearing loop system in our large Community Room, which can be used by people who have hearing aids with a telecoil switch. We also have hearing loops at all of our service desks.
